Mandera County witnessed a momentous event as Senator Ali Ibrahim Roba, former governor and current UDM party leader, proudly inaugurated the UDM Mandera office. This strategic move aims to enhance the party’s service to the people of Mandera County and signifies a broader commitment to community welfare.

During the inauguration, Senator Roba announced plans to initiate membership registration countywide and establish offices in all sub-counties. This proactive approach aims to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and foster direct engagement with the diverse communities in Mandera.

UDM, the 5th largest political party in Kenya, has gained substantial recognition nationwide after remarkable victories in its first election. Notably, the party secured almost all seats in Mandera County and achieved significant wins in other key regions, including Marsabit County, Wajir County, Garissa County, Isiolo County, and Kwale County.

The colorful event was met with overwhelming joy from Mandera residents who warmly welcomed Senator Roba. The senator, in his visit, engaged with religious leaders, elders, and the youth, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts for community development.

Senator Roba held consultative meetings with elders and mothers from various communities in Mandera County, briefing them on his multifaceted role encompassing representation, legislation, and oversight. Additionally, he conducted a constructive session with the youth, addressing challenges such as unemployment, drug abuse, and youth empowerment.

Looking forward to fostering youth talent and community engagement, Senator Roba announced plans, saying, “Insha’Allah, starting this July, my office, in conjunction with the Ali Roba Foundation, will launch a football tournament to harness the talents of the youth. The prize money will be significant, providing a platform for the youth to showcase their skills and contribute to the community’s vibrant spirit.”
